Auction description:
Sale 18191 - Automobiles d'Exception á Rétromobile, 23 Jan 2010
Rétromobile Salon, Porte de Versailles, Paris
Lot 213
1964 Jaguar Mk2 3.8-Litre Saloon, Chassis no. 223475DN
Representing the Jaguar Mk2 in its ultimate 3.8-litre/overdrive configuration, this wonderfully presented left-hand drive example was delivered new to San Francisco and remained in California until earlier this year when it was imported into Holland. The car had only one owner up to 1999, who always kept it garaged and well maintained. In 2000 the Jaguar was purchased from its first owner's family. Although totally rust free, undamaged and retaining its excellent original chromework, it nevertheless needed new paintwork, upholstery, rubber seals and a mechanical overhaul. The new owner, James Wong, took the car to Steve Gordon, the famous Jaguar restorer in Oakland, California who stripped it completely and carried out a total restoration while retaining the original engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, cooling system, etc. Restored to perfection, this beautiful Mk2 has covered only 8,000 miles since completion and is said to drive superbly. Original 'extras' include tinted glass, reclining seats, a radio and all tools come with the car. Ready for touring, rallies or just pottering around enjoying the sound of the twin exhausts, this beautiful Mk2 wants for only a new owner to enjoy it and is offered with importation document and State of California Certificate of Title.

Sold for €28,750 inclusive of Buyer's Premium
