Beautiful driving matching numbers Jaguar MK-2. Black with red leather interior is a striking combination. Same "Engineer/Jaguar Collector/Enthusiast" owner last 15 plus years. Major rebuild/restoration 7,000 miles ago. Including rebuilt engine, new wool headliner, carpets, leather seats and refinished wood. New seat belts front and rear. Rear seat is original leather with nice patina. Glass and gauges working, clean and clear. Engine bay complete and fully detailed. Perfect Porcelain Exhaust manifolds as originally supplied. Stainless steel exhaust system. Brake system fully rebuilt. Original tool kit. All components work perfectly including Overdrive. New radial tires in 2015 on Jaguar "Turbo Disc" wheels from an XJ-6. A great look for a non-wire wheel MK-2. Original wheels and hub caps included.
I have lovingly maintained, driven and enjoyed this classic Jaguar with my family over the last 15 years. It is a real head turner and gets compliments whenever we take it out. Although this car looks stunning on the street, I would not call it a concourse contender. For the show circuit, I would recommend the chrome and paint be redone. I also have the original bill of sale from the dealer when the car was new.

This 1962 Jaguar MK II was sold new via Manhattan Auto Inc. of Washington D.C. in October 1962 and spent time in Illinois before being acquired by the seller in 2017. A cosmetic refurbishment was subsequently carried out and involved repainting the car in black over replacement red leather upholstery. Power comes from a 3.8-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and equipment includes 15″ wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, dual carburetors, fender-mounted mirrors, and wood interior trim. Service performed under current ownership reportedly involved wiring repairs and fluid changes. This Mark II is now offered with a spare set of wheels, manufacturer’s literature, a service manual, 1962-dated purchase documents, service records, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 1963 model year.
Finished from the factory in Silver Blue, the car was stripped and repainted black in 2018. Additional work at that time included replacing various rubber weather stripping as well as refinishing the bright bumpers and trim. Equipment includes a Jaguar leaper hood ornament, dual fender-mounted mirrors, and polished twin exhaust outlets.
Black 15″ steel wheels wear polished Jaguar-logo hub caps with trim rings and are mounted with a mixed set of Yokohama and BFGoodrich tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. A spare set of wheels is included in the sale.
Originally trimmed in Light Blue upholstery, the cabin has been reupholstered using red leather seat covers with a matching center console and door panels and a color-coordinated headliner and carpets. Wood trim lines the dashboard and doors, and features include a locking glove compartment, a heater, and wooden fold-down trays for the rear seats. Work performed in April 2022 involved replacing the lower front seat foam, rear seat foam, rear seat covers, and rear deck vinyl. The seller states that various electrical systems have been re-wired under current ownership.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six was factory rated at 220 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The seller states that service in 2022 involved flushing the cooling system as well as changing the engine, transmission, and differential oils.
Corrosion can be seen on a number of underbody components.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate displays a production date of November 18, 1961, and lists factory colors and serial numbers. A spare set of wheels, manufacturer’s literature, a service manual, original purchase documents, and service records will accompany the car.
