This Jaguar Mk 2 was built in 1961, first registered in the US in 1963, and has reportedly been kept in the seller’s family since 1965. The car has been repainted in white over black leather, and power is from a 3.8-liter straight-six backed by a four-speed manual gearbox and a Laycock overdrive unit. Service since the seller’s acquisition in 2017 included replacement of the clutch, fuel tank, suspension and steering components, and driveline seals as well as electrical system repairs. This Mk 2 is offered at no reserve with recent service records, a Jaguar service manual, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The body features rear fender skirts, chrome bumper overriders, and faired-in fender markers. A repaint in its original white was commissioned by the seller’s grandfather in the 1980s. Blemishes include chips and cracks around the door edges and windows, corrosion near the front bumper, and several areas of bubbling. The turn signal and brake lamp wiring was repaired in 2017.
Body-colored steel 15” wheels wear chrome hubcaps and 165-series Michelin XZX tires installed by the seller. The rear hubs were cleaned and adjusted, new front brake pads were fitted, the parking brake was serviced, and a brake fluid flush was performed in 2017. The steering box was also resealed, and new suspension bushings and front subframe mounts were installed.
Low-backed seats are trimmed in faded black upholstery, and feature lap belts up front as well as wood picnic trays for the rear passengers. Service under current ownership included repairs to the ignition circuit and gauge wiring as well as replacement of dash bulbs. A torn headliner and other blemishes can be seen in gallery photos.
The burl wood dash houses Smiths and Lucas instruments as well as an inoperable Blaupunkt radio, and is shown in the narrated driving video above. An aftermarket cover hides cracks in the two-spoke steering wheel. The five-digit odometer shows 1,200 miles and has rolled over, with total mileage unknown. The seller has reportedly driven less than 100 miles since 2017.
A spare wheel, jack, and lug wrench are housed in the trunk. The seller states that a new fuel tank and sending unit were installed during his ownership.
The 3.8-liter inline-six breathes through twin SU carburetors under a single air cleaner. Mechanical service in 2017 was performed by British Automotive Repair of Scottsdale, Arizona, who rebuilt and adjusted the carburetors as well as replacing the spark plugs, hoses, belts, and valve cover and oil pan gaskets.
The four-speed manual gearbox was fitted with a new clutch, flywheel, and seals, while the wiring for the Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit was repaired.
A detailed invoice describes the work performed in October 2017. A Jaguar service manual is also included in the sale.
