Ebay item 10/17/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-MK-11-JAGUAR-1962-JAGUAR-MARK-11_W0QQitemZ1103006 ...
Opening bid $9,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. 30k miles.

Sellers description:
1962 Jaguar MK11. Upon sitting in storage for many years, where the former owner took this low mileage vehicle that had very little wear and tear, he chose to bring it back to a very nice condition. Complete leather interior was replaced, door panels to seats and console. A new o.e. style roof liner with sun visors, new carpets and floor mats. All walnut wood grain has been stained and coated. Front and rear windshields removed and resealed. The underside of the vehicle shows a brand new stainless steel exhaust system, new brake system; rotors, calipers, lines, pads. New shock absorbers front and rear and new radial tires with new Dayton wire wheels.

The exterior chrome is in excellent condition, with many pieces being brand new. The white paint is several years old, but in above average condition. The photos show the underside floor boards and fenders, these are all original with no repairs done, a rock solid body that has brought two recent first place show car awards.

Performance from the 3.8 litre motor is strong, both carburetors have been rebuilt, the electric fuel pump is new and the fuel tank was cleaned. The car is also equipped with manual overdrive transmission. Other options include power steering and power four wheel disc brakes.

The list of replaced parts goes on and on, which ran upwards of $30,000.00 to restore this jewel, but now it is time to go and the reasonable reserve price will make someone a proud owner.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
