Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar Mk II 3.8
VIN: P212236DN
Body Number: S004090
This is a nice driver that was just purchased from a noted Jaguar collector from Minnesota who keeps his cars in Scottsdale, AZ. He purchased this car from the second owner in July 1990 with 62,441 original miles. The statement regarding the miles is very believable from looking at the car, but it is not documented. After purchasing the car, the engine was overhauled, a full-syncro 4-speed gearbox was installed from a 4.2L E-type and the power steering unit was upgraded. The work was done by John Natole's GT Cars, Ltd. Then, a new black leather interior was installed. The seats, carpets and headliner are beautiful. The wood appears original and is in very nice shape for being so. Since the work was done (in the early 1990s), the Jaguar has been driven 6,588 miles. It was serviced regularly and stored in a climate controlled building with the rest of the collection in Scottsdale. Sadly, we do not have records for the work mentioned. The shop was dedicated to working on this one collection and didn't generate individual bills. After purchasing the car, we gave it a service and installed an electronic ignition system from XKs Unlimited (after the pictures were taken). It is running and driving very well.
The body and paint are in fine condition, being that they are at least twenty three years old (we don't know when it was repainted, if ever). There are some small rust bubbles forming in the driver's side doors and a little on the lower edge of the body in the right rear. The chassis and undercarriage look good thanks to undercoating. What you are looking at is a car with very good mechanicals, a very nice interior, good chrome and presentable paint. We encourage inspections and will be happy to give you or your mechanic full access.
