Ebay item 12/15/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-MK2-3-8-1960-Jaguar-MK2-MKII-Mark-2-Saloon-3-8-/1 ...
Current bid $1,025 reserve not met 11 bids 2 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This is a 1960 Jaguar MK2. The vehicle is complete with the exception of the TACH Generator, and carpet. Ran recently with a pretty substantial knock however it has not been driven since the early 80's.
This vehicle will need to be restored and although it was a California vehicle (and now an Arizona Vehicle) is has rust in the usual MK2 places (rear of wheel wells and the bottom of the door skins.) The sills are solid. The leather of the seats is perfect but some of the vinyl trim around them will need to be redone as will the seat foam. All of the wood is there but will need to be refinished. It has a few new parts such as an upgraded (original appearance and sound) fuel pump, replacement window gaskets, a few new exterior trim pieces like the signal light markers and Pirelli tires. This vehicle is not road worthy but would is a great restoration candidate. I will not ship this vehicle, it is for local pickup only. If you wish to make your own shipping arrangements I will release the vehicle once payment has cleared. I will include the original owner's manual, some restoration and service manuals and MK2 specific tools.

Some pictures show the condition of the engine, where the significant rust areas are and to show that the sills are solid. Also at someone's request I pulled back the underlayment for the carpet to expose the floorboards and checked for rust. The paint is mostly flaked off of this area and both sides have some surface rust. I scraped it a bit with a screw driver to show the scratches to clean metal which hopefully shows in the photos, I also went around and sounded it all with screw driver and engineer's hammer, it is all solid. The worst rust area is at the rear of the right front wheel arch, second worst is rear of the left front wheel arch, both of these spots will need patch panels. The door skins are rusted through at the bottom of the front doors, there may be enough metal to repair the skins but I was just planning on replacing them when this project was still on my plate. The other photos show the rust to the rear doors, and to the wheel spats, all of which should be repairable. I also tried to get some pics to give a better idea of what the chrome looks like. If you are going for competition/show quality then you have some rechroming in your future, if you are just going for a good looking ride, the chrome polishes up nicely.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
