Seller's description:
1967 Jaguar 420 RHD
This classic Jaguar 420 is a RHD South African assembly model. It has an automatic transmission and a rare and desirable sunroof.
The Jaguar was imported and registered in the Netherlands in 2008 and driven regularly until the previous owner decided it was time for a cosmetic upgrade. Slow progress by the body shop eventually led to the car being sold to us as an unfinished project.
The body has been almost completely stripped from its old paint. Surface rust has started to appear, but the body itself is very solid, without signs of previous repair work. The doors, bonnet and boot lid were stripped and painted in epoxy primer.
Underneath the car, the obvious underbody coating is visible. No signs of past metalwork were found, leading us to assume that this is a mostly rust free, damage free, original body tub.
The red vinyl interior needs to be renovated. The odometre shows 76.326 mls. Black vinyl sunroof.
The Jaguar 4.2 litre engine runs. It will require at least a thorough mechanical check up before it should be considered roadworthy. Steering links look to have been recently replaced and it was told that the automatic transmission was rebuilt shortly before the body work started. A battery is not included.
A solid and honest project car needing a straightforward restoration.
