Unfortunately, nothing is known of the history of this automatic transmission Jaguar 420. The only paperwork consists of old Dutch registration papers and an export document dated 24th May 2011, which is believed to be when the car was acquired by the vendor. It has since been on static display and will require recommissioning prior to road use.
Please note that if this vehicle remains within the Netherlands the reduced rate of Import VAT at 9% will be charged on the hammer price.

Description
The Jaguar 420 is a saloon car produced by the British car manufacturer Jaguar between 1966 and 1968. It was actually an evolution of the Jaguar S-Type, which in turn was based on the Jaguar Mark 2. The Jaguar 420 was equipped with a 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine that produced 245 horsepower and 283 pound-feet of torque, paired with a manual four-speed gearbox or optional automatic transmission. The car had a top speed of about 120 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8 seconds. The Jaguar 420 was a luxury sedan with a classic and timeless design that combined elements of the Jaguar Mark 2 and the Jaguar S-Type. It had a comfortable interior with leather upholstery and wood accents, and could be specified with options such as air conditioning, power steering and electric windows. Despite its elegant appearance and powerful engine, the Jaguar 420 was not a great success for Jaguar. The car was produced for only two years and only about 10,000 were sold. This was partly due to competition from other luxury saloons such as the BMW 2800 and Mercedes-Benz 250/280, which offered more advanced technology and better performance. Nevertheless, the Jaguar 420 remains a popular collector's item due to its beautiful design and classic looks. The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us. You can inspect the cars on the viewing days for which you have to make a reservation through our ticketshop.
