This is one of the nicest 420's you will ever see. It is a matching number car. It has lived most of it's life in Southern California from there it went to Texas. It has been in New England about 2 years, but has always been kept in a heated garage. Last year it had a full mechanical going through. Some of things done are as follows: new tires including the spare, new brakes, new hoses, new belts, upper and lower ball joints, carbs rebuilt, all the fluids changed, new wires, new rotor, new oil filter, new air filter, new bushings on the front end, new bushings on the steering wheel down through the column, new door gaskets, new rear window rubber, a new, complete, stainless steel exhaust, new radio and cassette player and the speedometer was recalibrated as well. The only thing that does not work is the time of day clock. The hand brake works perfectly.

The interior of the car is in very nice condition. The leather on the front and back seats is soft and has no cracks. The carpets are the originals and show nicely. The headliner is fine it does not sag. The two sun visors are faded and could use being done over. The wood on the car is very respectable and the veneer is intact.

The original color of the car is British Racing Green. The paint on the car is good, but not concourse. The car appears to have never been in an accident. All the floors, jacking points, and the lower part of the fenders are in excellent condition as you would expect any car from California to be.

The car has no overheating problems and the oil pressure is about 45 psi when it is running around town. The car runs and drives as well as it looks. I took the up to The British Invasion in Stowe, VT in September, which is about 550 miles round trip. I had no problems and did about 17 miles to the gallon.

Whoever buys this car will be very happy with it.

One of the nicest 420 salon cars around period. These cars are very RARE in the states, as under a thousand where imported. This one appears to be mostly original. This car drives VERY nice and starts right up and drives straight down the road. It appears that some needed attention to keep this car running so well was done by previous owner (carbs, brakes , steering rebuild, ignition wires etc...) I'm not a mechanic, and I'm not sure of what else was done. The seats show some wear and so does the carpet and floor mats as would be expected with a 41 year old original interior. This car is not restored but a nice car or restore it. I have weather striping for the back two doors and the original owners manual, in the trunk is the chrome for the exterior rear window. I also just installed a new battery. This car has a 4.2 litre engine same as the XKE with twin carburetors and 245 HP, four wheel disc brakes, independent four wheel suspension, variomatic power steering. As far as where this car is from i've only been able to track it back to TX, it might be a texas car but i believe it was imported to california, but i'm not sure, anyway it's a rust free car. The previous owner had the speedometer recalibrated and odometer set to 0 it now shows 00717 title is clear with miles as exempt.
