Current bid US $6,000, no reserve, 10 bids 9 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Portland, Oregon. 4k miles.

    Sellers description:
For your consideration I present my lovely English daily driving gentleman companion Uncle Matthew. Uncle Matthew is my 1967 Jaguar 420 who looks absolutely marvelous for his age. He is named after my favorite Nancy Mitford character and the name suits him perfectly. I purchased Uncle Matthew in 2013 when I was undergoing cancer treatment and thought if I must trundle back and forth to the hospital for treatments that made me feel simply dreadful I should do it in high style. I had always wanted to own a '67 Jaguar (a great year and incidentally the year of my birth) so in a way you might say Uncle Matthew was a bit of a bucket list check off. I found my beautiful Jaguar in San Rafael, California and I was also very fortunate to find an honest and highly skilled British mechanic blocks from the dealership where I acquired the car. Clint at British Car Repair completed approximately $7,000 worth of repairs to the vehicle before he was shipped North to his new home in Portland.

Uncle Matthew is loved by our entire family, is a pure delight to drive and always attracts considerable attention.

Behind the wheel I find I sit a little straighter as if I am magically transported back to a more genteel and refined time, a congested city street becomes an English country lane and if I did't know better I might find myself floating through the pages of a Kingsley Amis novel. The California car has been meticulously maintained and garaged throughout it's lifetime and looks and drives likes a dream. Uncle Matthew has never let me down. He starts every time and is timed to run smoothly making him a terrific daily driver. I have invested approximately $20,000.00 in the car with particular attention to the mechanics to ensure safe, smooth and consistent performance. The only alterations I have made to the interior and exterior are five brand new Vredestein tires and a professional and thorough detailing. It is my hope that this wonderful car will find an appreciative and loving home and continue to be treasured for the jewel he is. Low reserve.

    Mechanical Repairs Completed:
    Radiator and header tank repaired

5 Brand new Vredestein Sprint Classic Tires at 2,410 miles

    Interior:
The interior is in excellent condition including the upholstery, carpet, dash and headliner. All the chrome trim, knobs and handles are present and original. The wooden veneers have acquired a light craquelure commensurate with age. The drivers side front door has a few minor cracks to the leather. The car does not smell of tobacco nor does the backseat does possess seat belts. All the gauges and the cigarette lighter work as they should with the exception of the following:

The windshield washer system needs to be repaired. The switch functions but has lost it's spring action. The plumbing between the reservoir and jets is not intact.
    The original clock is non-functional
The original AM radio is non-functional

    Exterior:
The exterior is also in excellent condition. With a critical eye I note the following imperfections.

Cracking to the paint around the antennae
Cracking and a wee bit of rust to the area below the rear window and trunk on the driver's side of the car.
A dent to the center of the chrome grill.
Pitting to areas of the chrome commensurate with age.
A handful of small rock chips.
Oxidation to the glass in the drivers side mirror.

    Also Included in the Sale:
Original tool kit and knock off hammer
    Car cover
Both sets of California license plates
Pair of original Jaguar floor mats
Original owner's manual, warranty, spec sheet and periodical maintenance vouchers in original case.
Copy of 2004 appraisal when the car was donated by the second owner to the UC Davis Health System auction. In 2004 the car appraised at $17,500.00.
Copies of my maintenance and repair receipts
