Ebay item 1/29/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mark-IX-Classic-Car-Excellent-Paint-Job-Luxury-Vehicle-L ...
Current bid $6,500 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. 68k miles.

Sellers description:
This cool 1961 Mark IX Jaguar has been restored with new leather interior and excellent paint job that makes it look very sharp. The dealer custom sun roof, drop down tea trays, and long front body are some of its features that make the Mark IX a classy car. It has a 3.8L XK original Jaguar engine. From 1950 - 1961 there were not many changes in the Jaguar sedan vehicles. This car has a true 1950's classic look. In great shape, does need a little work. Super clean interior only top of dashboard needs to be re-lacquered. Brakes and transmission needs to be serviced. Car has been sitting, so may need a tune up. Runs and has no major damage. No rust or deterioration. Car is valued at $16,000.00.

I purchased the Jag 10 years ago in Reno, NV just after Hot August Nights (largest classic car nostalgia event in the United States). I was super pumped up to own my own classic car. I payed $9,500.00 for her from a dealership in Reno, who got the car from an auction. The gentleman that owned her before me sadly passed away. I was told he was the only previous owner of the car and took very good care of her over the years. The car was in good shape. I took the car back to Vegas with me, where I had the best team of mechanics and car experts repaint her back to her original color (she was an ugly red when I purchased her), put in all new leather interior, and fixed her up ready to drive. Also had a cd player installed. Oh yeah she was hot! We had a ton of fun driving her around town like big shots. When I moved up to Reno a few years later, I didn't hesitate to enter into the parade for Hot August Nights. That was awesome showing her off to thousands of people. I do love my Jaguar, but all good things must come to an end. Having the car is not a priority of mine any more. I am currently 6 months pregnant with my second child (couldn't be happier!), and my family and I are moving across country very soon. We have decided to sell her. I am sad to let her go, but there will be more cars in the future. The car is in Carson City, NV where we currently live. If you are not near the area, car can be loaded and shipped easily. I just wish that she finds herself in good hands of another true classic car lover.
