Ebay item 9/26/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-Mark-IX-MK-IX-1960-JAGUAR-MARK-IX-Saloon-Stunning ...
Opening bid $23,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Beautifully maintained in excellent running condition. Leather interior and wood veneer in excellent condition. Chrome in excellent condition. Large whitewall BF Goodrich tires, radio, sunroof, original side door tool kits with grease gun, paint looks original in very good condition, 3.8 manual transmission, 6 cylinder with only 75,569 miles. Unusual for a MK IX, this car has been fitted with an air conditioning unit. It has not tested operational, but all of the components are there should the buyer desire to have it reconditioned. Stamped plate on vehicle reads Body # N007580, Vin # 792492 and Engine # NC7193-8. Our mechanic checked the engine and it reads LB8944-8
In 1960, the MK IX was the most expensive vehicle Jaguar produced. The company went as far as publishing an magazine ad to this effect (a copy of which will be provided to the winning bidder). This vehicle is the Saloon model, adding chassis length to better suit its intended use as a limousine. Originally owned by Gibert Cuellar, founder of the El Chico's restaurant chain, this car has been owned by a Florida collector for the last seven years and rarely driven.

This fine example of craftsmanship came from a high end buyers own personal collection. Originally purchased from a museum, the buyer had kept this MK in a climatically controlled environment for years.
The beautiful color combination of the Ebony White exterior in conjunction with its incredibly supple Red Leather interior makes this MK IX a totally gorgeous and amazing vehicle. This is a very original MK, equipped with air condition and tools set. This MK is also in excellent mechanical condition, starting immediately and running smoothly. The braking/stopping power is also impressive. This is an rare opportunity to own an MK IX in beautiful condition with a stunning color combination. One of the nicest classic automobiles ever made, the lines, the chrome, the paint and the interior, this is one classic that you just do not want to miss.
