•Original left-hand drive, matching-numbers car
•Sold new in France
•Manual gearbox with overdrive; limited-slip differential
•Equipped for historic rallying
•Registered in the UK
This matching-numbers left-hand drive Jaguar Mark 2 was imported and sold by legendary distributor Delecroix in Paris. It was restored in the late 1990s and owned by French rally driver Claude Desperon, who raced it in the 7th Tour d'Espagne (in 2005). Finished in British Racing Green with tan leather trim (in very good condition), the car boasts wire wheels and the desirable four-speed gearbox with overdrive. It is fitted with a limited-slip differential, oil cooler, Kenlowe electric fan, dual fuel pumps, engine bay fire extinguisher system, and Terratrip Rally Computer.
The Jaguar has been in the same family's ownership since 2009 and been used regularly but sparingly, albeit not for rallying. It has covered fewer than 10,000 kilometres since 1998. The current owner brought the car to the UK in 2015 from the French Riviera with the intention of rallying it in Continental Europe. As a four-door saloon with left-hand drive, it is infinitely more practical and comfortable to rally than an open two-seater, while still being very quick. Around €10,000 has been spent on the car since its arrival in the UK, mainly with Jaguar racing specialist CKL (invoices on file). It is reluctantly sold because the owner is now unable to rally it. Accompanying documentation consists of FIVA papers (1998-2008), Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, and a UK V5C Registration Certificate.
