    Ebay item 5/19/11

Current bid $5,000 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $20,000. 22k miles.

    Sellers description:
Totally stock, all original 1960 Jaguar Saloon. This car is in decent condition for the year, but has never been restored and will need some work if you want it to be a show car. The car was driven a few years ago into storage, but the battery is dead and the gas tank is empty. This was my late Grandfather's project, that he never got to work on as he got sick soon after he purchased it in 1997. I will try to help as best I can with questions, but do not know much about the car other than what I found online when researching the value. This car is totally stock with all parts present. Miles are original and the title is clear. The cars title states that the mileage (a few hundred less than now) is actual.

    Sellers description:
1960 Classic Jag XJ, everything original! This is my late Grandfather's car, so I will do my best with any questions, but I am not a classic car expert. Car has been stored for quite a while, but was working at that time. Engine does turn.

Car has a buy it now price of $10,500 for 6 days. Car now said to be in Blacklick, Ohio. 22k miles.

    Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar MK 2 Sedan 3.8 L Engine with Manual Transmission fitted with Overdrive = 7th 3.8 liter engined MK2 (Exported to the USA), Matching Numbers

This car was purchased from an elderly lady in California (it was her husbands car who passed away 15 years ago) I had the car shipped back to Ohio were it has sat in my garage for the past 6 months. I bought the car as a project car and it is being sold as a project car.....I have done very little to the car during that time and its occupying valuable garage space so its time to let it go to someone who has the time to complete a restoration

The car is very solid and straight with good door and panel gaps

The chrome is in very good condition....little to no pitting . The rear bumper has damage on the passenger side and the rear overriders are missing, there are signs of some local repairs to the car on the rear passenger side corner ....the repair looks good and is hardly noticeable

The engine needs some attention it has a knocking noise...probably need a complete rebuild?

    The underside is very solid

    The glass is scratch free

The interior is presentable without tares but not factory original

Tires are old but in fairly good condition

Wood is okay but needs refinishing

The paint is oxidized ...I have spent quite a lot of hours restoring the paintwork along the entire length of the drives side as you can see the paintwork now looks quite shinny....but the passenger side remains unrestored

As I said what I am selling is a non-running project car with great potential....I have never had it running but have had the engine turning over.

What makes this car unique is that it is the 7th 3.8l liter engined MK2 (Exported to the USA)

It is also a numbers matching car.....it is hard to find a restoration project that has not been canibalized:
    Car number: S001121
    Body number: 210301
    Engine number: LA 1007 -8
Transmission number: GBN 29998 - JS
