Offered for sale in New Zealand.

Asking price $49,000 NZ.

Excellent original condition close to how it left the factory

Manual with Overdrive.

Reutter reclining front seats.

Power Steering

Cotswold Blue with Grey Upholstery

Manufactured 25 Feb 1960 and delivered to Henley's of London. Jaguar Heritage trace certificate #1210, Engine Number LA32738, Chassis Number 200587DN

I found this car after looking for several years. It had two owners prior to 1964 and was then with the Simmis family until 1994 when the previous owner bought it

There is NO rust and the body and chassis are in excellent condition, as is the interior and the chrome. It is in amazing condition underneath with the overall condition of the car confirming the mileage as genuine. New rubbers were fitted to all doors, screens, boot lid. The woodwork and upholstery were refurbished with carpets and headlining replaced. Virtually all rubber mounts and bushes under the car have been replaced, chassis mounts, suspension, gearbox, engine. The chassis was treated with waxoil and a Fuelstar fitted for unleaded fuel.

The car drives beautifully, doesn't use oil with the clutch and Moss gearbox excellent.

Regrind and new valve springs in 1988 at 54602 miles with brakes rebuilt in 1996 at 56996 miles. In 2007 the clutch slave cylinder was resleeved, new carb diaphragms fitted and the fuel pump rebuilt. All fluids were replaced, engine, diff, gearbox and overdrive oils and classic Koni shocks fitted.

I have added the optional Reutter reclining seats which i had recovered in the leather from the existing seats. The power steering is mainly Jaguar parts ( a modified XJS rack, with an original Jaguar reservoir and a Japanese pump) and makes a startling improvement in handling and useability BUT i have all the original parts should a new owner choose to remove it.

1960 Mk2 JAGUAR 3.8 MOD

Manual with Overdrive. Reutter reclining front seats. Power Steering. Moss gearbox.

This car is in excellent original condition, close to how it left the factory in 1960. I looked for a Mk2 for several years before finding this one which was then owned by a former engineer (Alan McCall) with the Mclaren racing team in the 1960's. It had one owner in the UK (1376MK) before it was bought by an NZ traveller and shipped here in 1962. The Simmis family purchased the car in December 1964 and it stayed with them until the previous owner bought it in December 1994. I have owned it since April 2007 and will be very sorry to see it leave. This car has been pampered and always kept indoors. Other than a brief period in 1988 it sat in a garage on carpet beside a pool table largely unused until the previous owner purchased it in 1994.

The previous owner had the car repainted in the original Dulon Cotswold Blue. There is no rust and the body and chassis are in excellent condition, as is the interior and the chrome. We have had the car up on a hoist and the car is in amazing condition underneath with the overall condition of the car confirming the mileage as genuine. New rubbers were fitted to all doors, screens, boot lid etc. The woodwork and upholstery were refurbished with the carpets and headlining replaced. Virtally all rubber mounts and bushes under the car have been replaced, chassis mounts, suspension, gearbox, engine. The chassis was treated with waxoil and a Fuelstar fitted for unleaded fuel.

The motor had a regrind and new valve springs in 1988 at 54602 miles and the brakes were rebuilt in 1996 at 56996 miles. This Mk2 3.8 is stunning to look at and attracts comment whenever it is out for a drive and it drives just like an original which it is. As a family we will be very sorry to see "Jack" leave but it's time for a new owner.

Shipping to Southampton, UK is approx £2000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
