This example, fitted with the desirable manual gearbox and overdrive, was for some forty years the property of a senior Yorkshire Police Officer. It is understood that the Daimler visited several of the more prominent crime scenes, including those of the infamous Yorkshire Ripper. (Sorry Morse's Jag - but you don't come close to this baby......). During its stay with the family, the motor car was used on a regular basis, but seemingly, a serious restoration was never carried out.
Close inspection will reveal that the panel fit around the doors is generally better than some, but there are some cosmetic blemishes and light corrosion. We understand that a respray was carried out some five years ago and the Daimler retains the original seats and headlining. The oil pressure gauge is apparently not working, but the vendor informs us that the oil pressure has been checked and was found to be satisfactory. We have also been told that the motor car drives 'as it should' and will certainly reward its new custodian's endeavours in enhancement.
The Daimler is supplied with some history, a V5C registration certificate and an MOT test certificate which expires 9.6.2011.
SOLD MARCH 2011: £3520
