Car to be at auction 9/13
www.barons-auctions.com/details.php

Auction description:
Model 250 V8
First Registered 1969
Registration No BGC 204G
Engine No tba
Chassis No 1K5486BW
MOT Aug 2014
Colour Moorland Green
This very late Daimler 250 has been in the current ownership of 42 years, as part of a major classic car collection of an enthusiastic motor engineer. The car has covered circa 4,000 miles in the past 30 years but has always been well maintained & kept in a heated motor house. The Daimler was the subject of a through restoration a number of years ago including a bare metal repaint in Jaguar Moorland Green with the correct lead loading of joints and seams. During these works, the owner decided to create the ultimate 60's "Q car" by fitting a 4.2 XK E straight six engine with around 220 bhp available but retaining the original & discreet Daimler features such as twin exhaust pipes & badging. This combination is said to have resulted in a very lively motor car that is much faster than the 3.8 engined Jaguar MK2 of its day.

The Moorland green paintwork is complimented by the original, suede green leather upholstery and a perfect green cloth headlining. The car is thought to be one of the final Daimler 250's produced & registered in April 1969.

The car is offered complete with service History, which comprises of a stamped service booklet, previous MOT's dating back to 1982, original 1969 Log Book, plus later V5, service guides, an August 1977 tax disc, Lubrication Chart & various other items of ephemera. Offered for sale for the first time since 1971 due to the owner retiring from driving. The car has benefited from much recent expenditure including new tyres, recently MOT'd and qualifies for free Historic road tax.

Described, by the vendor, as stunning example throughout!!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
