This 1969 Jaguar 240 saloon we have on offer for you today is described as being in good condition throughout and the body work is painted in a lovely Light Blue colour and it has the matching blue interior trim and upholstery.
The odometer reading states 1602 miles but on examining the history file one would have to assume that this is probably on its second time round. One of the first owners had the car from the early seventies until 1994 and in the copious history file there is a huge file of invoices which we believe total in excess of ú20000 spent over the years. Upon further examination of the the paperwork it shows that there has only been four keepers from new and there are many old M.O.T. certificates, a drivers handbook and the this lovely car comes with a current M.O.T. certificate until October 1999.
It has the 2483cc six cylinder engine and the three speed automatic transmision, which we are informed perform as they should, and this would appear to be a good sound car which should prove very popular at the sale with the new owner gaining much pleasure from owning and driving the car in the future.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
