Car at auction 3/17
richardedmondsauctions.com/catalogue-new/

Auction description:
Lot 1920
1964 Jaguar S Type 3.8 Manual
Reg. no. AWK 692B
Chassis no. 1B-51767DN
Engine no. 785306078

AWK 692B was supplied new to a D.J.West of Watford who then used it for 13 year before it was laid up when he died. It spent 12 years in a barn before passing through several owners, details of which are in the large history file. The car has been dry stored for a number of years but recently work has been carried out and the engine is now running smoothly. The chassis has had some welding done in the past but we are told that it is 'correct and sound'. Externally the car would benefit from a repaint and the veneer work inside could be improved. We are told that the clutch isn't working and there is only one fuel pump operative. Now offered here this sound car could be further improved and then enjoyed this summer. It is sold with a V5c, a selection of bills, a service handbook and a service manual.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
