Auction description:
1965 Jaguar Mk2 3.4
First Registered: 1965 Registration No: JPH 881 C
Mileage: (1)36000
Chassis No: 168505DN
MOT: October 2016
Colour: British Racing Green
First registered in Guildford in February 1965, this lovely 3.4 has the desirable 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive that makes the most of the car's prodigious performance. Finished in classic British Racing Green with cream interior it has recently undergone a full bare-metal respray with any rusted parts replaced with new metal where necessary. At the same time, the headlining was professionally replaced. The original front seats, which are in good condition and can be supplied with the car, were replaced by seats from an early XJ6 as they offer more comfort and lumbar support. Other additions include Daytona chrome wire wheels (together with a spare set), power steering and a Motolita steering wheel. (The original steering wheel is also available).
The car comes with the original Owner's Handbook, toolbox and a comprehensive history file going back more than three decades with MoTs from 1989. A Previous owner had the engine rebuilt by Jaguar specialists VSE, with the cylinder head converted to run on unleaded fuel and most major items that suffer from wear and tear have been replaced within recent mileage. These include the clutch, fuel pump, dynamo, starter motor and stainless steel exhaust. The battery was replaced in July and carries a guarantee.
This beautiful car drives superbly, longing to get on the open road and is only offered for sale to finance a family trip to New Zealand. The car carries Historic Vehicle road tax and the current MoT expires in October 2016. A Heritage Certificate from the Jaguar Heritage Trust also accompanies the vehicle.
A lot of time, money and love has been invested in this car to bring it back to such excellent condition, leaving just enough for the new owner to leave his or her own mark.
Guide Price: £14,000 to £ 16,000
