Auction description:
Jaguar MK 2 3.4
Vintage, Classic & Collectors's Motor Vehicles, BCA (27th November 2007)
Acquired by its vendor 35 years ago, this Mk 2 3.4 is a 1961 model and was first registered in Kent. Finished in Cotswold Blue with grey leather trim, this motor car has been the subject of a most exacting restoration which was undertaken between 1996 and 2000. Details of work undertaken are too exhaustive to list here so we would suggest that interested parties ask to view the comprehensive file that is supplied.Prior to commencement of the restoration, the car had been off the road since 1981 in store and we understand that during this ownership only around 8,000 miles have in fact been covered. Beautifully presented in every respect and sitting on chrome wire wheels, the motor car has won various awards during the past few years as well as featuring on the cover of Jaguar Enthusiast magazine in December 2003 and also in the brochure for Race Glaze polishes. Fitted with manual transmission with overdrive and benefiting from uprated brakes, this fine Mk 2 is certain to attract considerable interest.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
