Car to be at auction 4/11
www.barons-auctions.com/details.php

Auction description:
Manufacturer Jaguar Cars
Model MkII 3.4 Saloon
First Registered 1961
Registration No 499UXH
Engine No KG89238
Chassis No 155559
MOT March 2012
Colour Red

This manual/overdrive 3.4 was found by Jaguar specialists AJC in part-restored condition and was finished by them in 2005. With the restoration complete, it was sold to an owner in Ireland, but never registered and was, unfortunately, badly stored.

The 2005 restoration included a repaint, all brake cylinders replaced, stainless steel exhaust fitted, new chrome wire wheels with new tyres and a new headlining. It has Rutter reclining front seats with grained leather (although the leather is now cracked and split due to the bad storage), some chrome has deteriorated, as has some wood trim. Fortunately, the car was repatriated by AJC and is now offered for sale.

Recently the car has been MOT'd and cleaned but we are advised that some recommissioning might still be required.

Overall though, the condition is good with a very sound body and chassis. The engine, gearbox, overdrive etc are all described as good and the car is reported to drive well.

Estimate £7,000-9,000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
