Seller's description:

Hampshire, United Kingdom

53,413 Miles (Indicated)

manual

Silver

2.4L

VIN 121686DN

This Jaguar MKII is an elegant classic sports saloon, in a particularly tasteful colour scheme, and fitted with discerning upgrades.

Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 2.4-litre ‘XK6’ straight-six, sending around 120bhp to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

Upgrades include uprated SU HD6 carburettors, a dual pipe exhaust system, a manual choke override, a battery isolator, and a 123-electronic ignition system.

The odometer indicates 53,413 miles, however this is not warranted.

The seller notes that the car featured in several films and TV series shot in the UK, such as ‘All the Money in the World’.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

This MkII is finished in a tasteful silver exterior hue over a red leather-trimmed interior, punctuated by wood trim on the dashboard, door cards, and window frames.

It rides on a set of 15-inch body-coloured steel wheels with chrome finishers and chrome hubcaps, fitted with period appearance Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres.

The specification includes a three-spoke wood-rim Motolita steering wheel, Smiths gauges, toggle switches, electric windscreen wipers, a Motorola radio, heating and ventilation, push-out front and rear quarter light windows, and a locking glove compartment.

Upgrades include uprated SU HD6 carburettors, a dual pipe exhaust system, a manual choke override, a battery isolator, and a 123-electronic ignition system.

The car comes with the invoices from current ownership noted to total in excess of £10,000, as well as the original handbook, various invoices from previous owners, the V5C, a parts and accessories book, and one key.

CONDITION

Specific notes from the seller include: the roof and boot lid were repainted during my ownership, and the paintwork seems to indicate a previous restoration prior to my ownership. The car now shows some signs of wear, including surface rust on one front wheel arch and rust bubbles in the corners of the doors. There are also various minor cracks in the paintwork, although these have not developed into rust in my ownership. Inside, the woodwork is faded and shows signs of use and age, but it remains complete. The dashboard also has areas of fading.

The vehicle is understood to be exempt from mandatory MOT testing due to its age.

SERVICE HISTORY

The latest service was carried out In February 2025 at approximately 53,300 miles, Road and Competition Engineering Limited serviced the car, installed a new clutch, and performed a tune-up of the engine as well as an inspection.

In August 2024, a new dynamo was fitted, a tie rod end was replaced, and the tracking and alignment were revised.

In November 2023, the brake servo and brake pipes were replaced, the handbrake was adjusted, all fluids were topped up, and a general check-over and inspection were carried out.

In May 2023 the car received a full service along with the replacement of the brake master cylinder, drive shaft seals, axle tube gasket, handbrake pads, calliper pistons, brake pads, rear brake discs, and brake fluid, and a brake calliper rebuild.

The seller notes the engine oil and filter have been changed annually during ownership.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
