Car was at auction 9/11
www.bonhams.com/eur/auction/19288/lot/481/

Auction description:
Lot No: 481
1967 Daimler V8 250 Saloon
Registration no. SYT 142F
Chassis no. P1A13312BW
Engine no. 7A14038

Sold for £7,475 inclusive of Buyer's Premium

This Daimler V8 250 was bought new in 1967 by the company of which the current owner was then Chairman. 'SYT 142F' was acquired for the vendor's personal use, and for the company chauffeur to use as a standby if the company's limousine was unavailable, passing into his personal ownership in 1992 when he retired. Full service records from 1992 onwards are on file, recording ongoing maintenance including an engine overhaul (in 1996) and the installation of a vehicle tracker (in 1997). A total of circa 60,500 miles is currently displayed on the odometer.
Finished in dark green metallic with fawn interior, 'SYT 142F' is a well cared for car in fair condition that has been regularly maintained but would nevertheless benefit from cosmetic refurbishment of the body, engine bay, paint, brightwork and interior. The engine sounds fine, displaying healthy oil pressure and water temperature readings when warm, while the wheels and tyres are in generally good condition. The car is offered with sundry maintenance invoices, recently expired MoT (2nd September 2011), Swansea V5 registration document and owner's wallet containing Operation & Maintenance and Sales & Service books.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
