Nov 2015 - car has passed through several hands, needing mechanical work to clutch, brakes and suspension rubbers before putting on the road. 30,000 miles, believable considering the condition. Chrome unpitted, seals, gaskets, labels, tags, rubber, tools, all in place. Everything works.Seats, headliner, door panels in excellent original condition. Woodwork being varnished, carpets need replacing. Tool kit complete, spare wheel Jack all there.

This 1964 Jaguar Mk X is a Canadian-market example that was built on March 12, 1964, and sold new to its first owner outside of Calgary, Alberta. The car spent several decades in storage with the family of the original owner until 2011, and it subsequently passed through three additional owners before being purchased by the current owner in 2023. Refurbishment work performed in 2017 included a repaint in Opalescent Dark Green, replating the rear bumper, refinishing the burl walnut interior trim, rebuilding the radiator, and installing a replacement clutch, GAZ shocks and springs, and tires. Power comes from a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and features include triple SU carburetors, 420G-style external fuel pumps, a dual exhaust system, independent suspension, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, 14″ steel wheels, and hubcaps. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in beige leather, and amenities include a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio and speakers, a heater, three-point seatbelts, front and rear armrests, and rear tray tables. This Mk X is now offered in Canada on consignment by the selling dealer—a BaT Local Partner—with a Jaguar Heritage Production Record Trace certificate, literature, refurbishment photos, two sets of keys, car-show awards, and British Columbia registration.
The Mark Ten was introduced in 1961, and it featured unibody construction and power from a 3.8-liter inline-sixes. It was updated for 1965 with the introduction of a 4.2-liter six, and production of the related 420G model ended in 1970. This Mk X was delivered from the factory in Opalescent Dark Green and was repainted in its factory color in 2017. The rear bumper was replated at that time, and replacement door-window seals were also installed. Details include a Leaper hood mascot, 7″ European-market halogen outer headlights, a cowl vent, Talbot-style door mirrors, front and rear vent windows, and polished dual exhaust outlets. The seals for the front doors are worn.
Black-finished 14″ steel wheels wear chrome Jaguar-branded hubcaps and are mounted in General Altimax RT45 tires that were installed in 2023. A spare wheel is stowed under a cover in the carpeted trunk. The Mk X was the first Jaguar saloon with independent rear suspension, and replacement GAZ coilover shocks and springs were installed along with front suspension bushings in the 2010s. It is also equipped with a power-steering system, which the selling dealer notes has a leak. Stopping is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard rear units, and the master cylinder was overhauled under previous ownership.
The cabin is equipped with beige leather seats, and matching upholstery extends to the center console and the door panels. Replacement sun visors, carpets, and parcel-shelf upholstery were fitted in 2017, and the burl walnut dashboard, door caps, rear tray tables, and trim pieces were also removed and refinished at that time. Amenities include a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio and speakers as well as a heater, front and rear armrests, and front and rear three-point seatbelts. Wear on the upholstery and the front-passenger door panel is visible.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a semi-circular horn ring. Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer that is said to stick, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, and gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level set alongside a Lucas ammeter in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 41k miles, and the speedometer cable has been replaced in recent years.
The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors. The engine is said to have been removed from the car, inspected, and fitted with a replacement water pump in the 2010s. The radiator also was overhauled at that time.
The engine stamping is shown above. Stampings on the cylinder head and the transmission are presented in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. A replacement clutch and driveline U-joints were installed in the 2010s, and the car is equipped with 420G-style external fuel pumps in place of the in-tank factory units.
The Jaguar Heritage Production Record Trace certificate lists factory colors, production information, and distribution through Jaguar of Canada.
The vehicle is being sold on its British Columbia registration, which serves as the ownership document in British Columbia, Canada. The registration lists the car’s model year as 1963.
