Ebay item 8/20/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1962-Jaguar-Mark-II-3-8-Gorgeous-JCNA-Show-Winner-/16063 ...
Car has a buy it now price of $44,500 for 9 days. 28k miles.

Sellers description:
We have never seen a nicer Jaguar Mark II than this one. It is a JCNA 99.85pt show winner. It is a number's matching 1962 Mark II 3.8 that is flawless. It is equipped with overdrive. It is magnificent and runs better than it looks. Everything works as it should. We just put chrome wire wheels on it because I think it makes the car stand out more. The green painted wires are also available. The paint, leather, and wood work are immaculate. We have just done a major service, changing all fluids and getting the car ready for its next owner. The price we asking is a fraction of the restoration costs. You are welcome to inspect the car at our shop. We have all records and pictures of the restoration as well as the JDHT certificate.

A Beloved Classic from the Golden Era of British Sporting Saloons

Fitted with Automatic Transmission, Uprated Suspension, and Wider Wheels

Please note that the lots offered in the Billy Joel Collection have been in long-term static storage and may not be currently operational. They will require mechanical attention prior to use.

This example has been upgraded with various modern features to enhance its usability and performance while preserving its period character. Its significant modifications include the fitting of an automatic transmission, upgraded suspension, and wider wire wheels. The car also features four-piston brake calipers with vented front rotors. Further thoughtful refinements include an upgraded alternator, aluminum radiator, air-conditioning, and a conversion to negative-ground electrics. Together, these upgrades address many of the practical considerations associated with regular use of a 1960s sporting saloon.

The combined effect of these carefully chosen modifications is a machine that retains the elegance and distinctive appearance of the original Mk II while offering greater comfort and convenience for modern driving.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
