This 1959 Jaguar Mk I is a left-hand-drive example that was reportedly refurbished in 2012 and is powered by a 3.4-liter XK inline-six with twin SU carburetors linked to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The car is finished in white over red, and equipment includes a heater, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, Lucas fog lamps, chrome bumpers with overriders, rear fender skirts, front and rear wind wings, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ wire wheels. The seller acquired the car in 2017, and recent maintenance is said to include a brake service and an oil change. This Mk I saloon is now offered with a Haynes workshop manual, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, spare parts, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in white and features rear fender skirts, a chrome front grille, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The seller reports that paintwork was performed in 1997, and up-close photos of the finish can be viewed in the gallery. An Abarth badge is fitted to the rear bumper, and the front badge bar features Union Jack and Automobile Association badge plates. Additional equipment includes a Leaper front hood ornament, Lucas fog lamps, and fender-mounted rearview mirrors. Paint bubbling is visible on the driver’s door.

15″ wire wheels wear Jaguar two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-width Vredestein tires. Disc brakes are equipped at all four corners, and the seller reports that a brake service was completed in preparation for the sale.

The cabin features red leather seats with matching carpets and door panels. The wooden dash is joined by a wood gear selector and window surrounds with front and rear wind wings. Equipment includes a heater, a locking glovebox, lap belts, and manual crank windows.

The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges monitoring oil pressure, water temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The horn does not work, and the five-digit odometer shows just under 73k miles. True mileage is unknown.

Power comes from a 3.4-liter XK inline six featuring twin SU carburetors. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Shifting is through a four-speed manual gearbox with Laycock de Normanville overdrive. A dual exhaust system is fitted, and the seller notes rust in the wheel wells.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate lists the original engine number, factory overdrive, and a manufacture date of September 3, 1958.

A collection of spare parts including a steering wheel and an intake manifold a Haynes workshop manual and a collection of documents stored in a plastic container are included in the sale.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
