Ebay item 7/30/21

www.ebay.com/itm/284389807926

Current bid: $5,100 reserve not met 2 bids 9 days left in auction, seller yaztecautoga, 53k miles, Marietta, Gerogia.

Seller's description:

Yaztec Automotive is proud to offer this two owner, low mileage, rust-free and beautifully restored 1959 Jaguar MKI, 3.4 saloon custom for sale. We bought it from an estate and do not have any restoration pictures or records but the car speaks for itself.

This vehicle spent all its life in Utah and Tennessee, hence being rust-free. The car went through an extensive and high quality restoration about 10 years ago. The work included: new paint, new high quality genuine leather seat covers, refurbishing all the woodwork, polishing all the bright works, and modifying the engine. The original troublesome 6 cylinder 3.4L engine was swapped with a fresh, powerful, and reliable GM 4.3L, V6 Vortec engine matched with a GM 3 speed TH350 automatic transmission. The conversion was performed professionally without cutting into the frame. Also, all existing gauges are functional. The front and rear suspension and the brake system are original. The engine starts immediately every time, idles great, runs cool, has great oil pressure, and performs well. The transmission shifts great. The transmission shift handle is custom and located between the center bottom of the dash and top of the radio wood compartment. This is a unique and reliable vehicle. we have a clear Tennessee title in hand.

Please read the detailed description below and view the images before bidding. we did not have access to a lift and provided a few under-carriage photos by laying down on the ground. we encourage all interested parties to inspect the car in person or have it inspected by a third party before bidding. Please read our (1401), 100% positive feedbacks and bid with confidence. we have earned each feedback by providing a detailed description for each listing and conducting proper business on ebay for the last 20 years.

Exterior: The body panels are razor straight and have great shut lines. In fact, you can hold each door 6" away from the body and slightly push it to close. The paint is glossy with a deep finish with some minor flaws that are hardly noticeable. there are no rust or any bubbles on the body panels. We call it a high driver quality paint. The previous owner chose to have the roof covered with a high quality canvas. For those old timers, similar to the car that inspector Morse drove in the British TV Crime series: Inspector Morse. There are no bubbles or bumps under the canvas cover indicating a rust-free roof. Also, a luggage rack was mounted on the trunk. All bright works were polished that look great. All glass and light lenses look great. The under-carriage including the floors, inner and outer sills, inner fenders, and frame are rust-free (see photos) and are protected with a light coat of rust-prohibitive material.

Interior: The original seats were covered with new high quality leather. There is a small piece of left-over leather in the trunk showing the high quality. The door panels are original and in excellent condition. all woodwork were refurbished in a satin finish and look fantastic. The wool carpets are new. The previous owner decided to customize the headliner by replacing it with a plaid pattern wool headliner. Also, the glove compartment was covered in this material. It looks fantastic. The windows roll up and down with ease. The original black steering was replaced with a high quality wood Lecarra steering wheel.

Mechanical: The freshly rebuilt GM 4.3L, V6 Vortec engine with Edelbrock carburetor and aluminum intake starts immediately every time. It idles great, runs cool, has great oil pressure, does not smoke and performs well. The GM 4.3L Vortec engine was a diehard and dependable engine used in many American made vehicles starting in 1985. The 4.3L engine matched the same bore and stroke with the 350 SBC engine producing 155 HP and 230 ft-lb torque installed in Chevrolet and GMC full size pick ups and vans. The automatic transmission shifts great in all gears. There are a few drops of fluid below the car when its parked for extended amount of time. The brakes function good and the car will stop. However, the pedal gets hard from time to time meaning that the servo may need adjustment, Vacuum checked, or rebuilt and needs to be investigated. The electric fan keeps the car running at a very low temperature. The exhaust system is in great condition. The correct tailpipes are extended out of the right rear corner very similar to the vehicles with the original engine ( except with the original vehicles the tailpipes were extended from the left rear corner of the vehicle). The car rides very smooth on a set of almost new 185 HR15 Michelin tires.

Electrical: all lights, turn signals, gauges, horn, etc. work properly. The modern stereo sounds great.

Trunk: The spare tire area and trunk floor are solid. we do not have the spare and the jack. However, we have a partially complete original tool kit.

This is a fun, highly detailed, great running 1959 Jaguar Mark I. Originally from Utah, this car was spared from northern rust and salt. All chrome and stainless are in show condition, interior wood work is beautiful, and the car runs down the road amazing. The 4.3L GM V6 engine swap has added some power and reliability to this British original.
