Lot Number 259
Registration WVC 598
Chassis Number S975537BW
Engine Number KF3223-8
Odometer reading 52,500 miles
Estimate £30,000 - £35,000 sold at £33,600

Wonderful condition throughout, restored in 2016
This lovely example is presented in Sherwood Green (repainted in 2016) with its original tan leather interior (re-Connollised), new door cards and carpets and comes with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirming that it is a full matching numbers car which is all important. The car was the subject of a major professional ground up body restoration, approximately costing £20,000, with new inner and outer sills fitted in 2016. Its wonderful interior is complimented by its woodwork which typically shows off all that was luxurious with Jaguar motor cars and its smooth six-cylinder 3.4 litre engine is mated to an automatic gearbox. This car has been the subject of some considerable work over the last four years and with its colour coded spoke wheels matching its superb bodywork colour, this example really is one of the finest available. In 2016, the car had its disc brake system rebuilt, complete re-wire with new wiring loom. In 2020, the engine was rebuilt with all new bearings, rebuilt SU carburettors, fuel pump, piston rings, timing gear and oil pump. This wonderful example comes with its original Jaguar workshop manual and spares book is on its original UK registration.

The Classic Sale at Wheeler Dealer Live 2025
Lot Number 170
JAGUAR 3.4 SALOON
Registration Number WVC 598
MOT Expiry Exempt
Chassis Number S975537BW
Engine Number KF3223B
Transmission Automatic
Body Colour Sherwood Green
This 1958 example is the larger engined 3.4-litre variant, coupled to what was the rare automatic option, benefits from factory-fitted disc brakes on all four wheels and is displaying just 58,213 miles on the odometer
In 2016, it was the subject of a major professional ground-up body restoration costing c.£20,000, with inner and outer sills and was freshly painted in the lovely, period-correct shade of Sherwood Green you see today
Further attention over the next four years included colour-coded wire wheels, a disc brake system rebuild, complete rewire with a new wiring loom and the glorious tan leather interior was re-connolised
In 2020, the engine was rebuilt with new bearings and piston rings, the SU carbs were overhauled, and a new fuel pump and oil pump were fitted
The Jaguar was purchased by our vendor in 2021and has been carefully maintained and looked after since
Upgrades include professionally fitted inertia seat belts all round and Coombes-style steel rear arches (originals included). The wheels are shod with Blockley Tyres (including spare) that, in the vendor's words, have ‘transformed the handling’ and covered less than 1,000 miles since fitting
The car's history file is substantial and includes its Jaguar Heritage Certificate, original handbook and a plethora of historic MOTs and Tax Discs
This is an excellent opportunity to own a very well sorted and beautifully presented example of Jaguar's landmark late-1950s saloon
