233 - 1959 Jaguar Mk.1 Historic Race Car From the Alan Mann Racing R
Estimate: £30,000 - £35,000
Registration Number: TBA
Chassis Number: S911844BW
The Jaguar Mk.1 on offer today is an original 1958 2.4 model, built expressly to Goodwood regulations and thus qualifying for selection to this prestigious event. It is also eligible for the well-regarded HRDC 'Touring Greats' where it sits well in Class 'B' for cars running 1601cc - 2700cc.
Built by the highly respected Jaguar marque specialist, Don Law Racing, (from a rust-free, original disc-brake RHD car sourced from Malta) this car has wanted for nothing in the quest to produce a competitive car in its class.
Hard as it may be to believe, with the appearance of the Alan Mann Racing Ford 107E Prefect race programme taking precedent, this impressive Jaguar project was shelved, before it turned a wheel in anger, in favour of Alan Mann's personal preference for the Ford marque. To replicate such a Jaguar historic race programme today would cost well in excess of £100,000.
With the added bonus of being eligible for HSCC/HRSR, CSCC 'Swinging '60s, Heritage Historic Series, CTCRC Classic & Historic Touring Car Championship - offering a wealth of prime events - all this fabulous Jaguar Mk.1 racer now needs is straightforward re-commissioning and a willing driver with an eye to an absolute bargain!
