This 1962 Jaguar Mk II was purchased new by the seller’s grandfather, who took delivery of the car in the United Kingdom alongside his son on August 14 of that year. Approximately 1k miles were covered in Europe before the car was shipped to the US, and the car has resided in Oregon and California during the ensuing 62 years. It is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and is finished in metallic gray over a red leather interior. Equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, Jaguar-branded hubcaps, a heater, and front bucket seats with laps belts. The brake pads, brake master cylinder, and clutch slave cylinder were replaced in March 2024 along with the steering rod bushings, and the fuel filter, pump mount, and hoses and fittings were replaced a month prior. This Mk II is now offered at no reserve with the typewritten Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin, typewritten warranty paperwork, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in metallic gray, and exterior equipment includes a Leaper hood ornament, a pop-up cowl vent, a driver’s-side mirror, and chrome wraparound bumpers with overriders as well as a chrome grille, window surrounds, trim, and dual exhaust outlets. Bumper stickers and window stickers can be seen along with cracked weather seals.
Painted 15″ steel wheels with hubcaps are mounted with Toyo 800 Ultra tires. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension and a cantilevered live rear axle. Stopping power is handled by four-wheel disc brakes. The brake master cylinder was replaced in March 2024 along with the brake pads.
The front bucket seats were reupholstered in red leather roughly four decades ago, and the cabin features matching rear seats and burled wood accents for the dashboard, door caps, and window frames. Interior equipment includes a heater, front-seat shoulder belts, and front and rear vent windows. The shifter boot is missing.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and centrally positioned auxiliary gauges displaying water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles, although it has reportedly rolled over once. Approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.8-liter XK inline-six was factory rated at 220 horsepower and 237 lb-ft of torque, which is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and a limited-slip differential. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in March 2024, and the fuel filter, pump mount, and hoses and fittings were replaced in February of the same year along with the battery.

The Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin lists factory specifications as well as transfer to the original owner on August 14, 1962. The sale also includes literature and warranty paperwork.
