Ebay item 9/24/18 www.ebay.com/itm/1962-Jaguar-Mark-2-3-8L-Automatic/283176698702
Car has a buy it now price of $5,850 for 20 days, seller mai_904, 50k miles.
Seller's description:
1962 Jaguar Mark 2 Saloon in need of Total Restoration!! What makes this Mark 2 stand out from the crowd, is that this is MATCHING NUMBERS Saloon that features most powerful 3.8 Liter engine, similar to the one found in Jaguar XKE E-type, automatic transmission and power steering! It also comes with the rare A/C unit installed in the trunk!
This Jaguar was parked into storage decades ago with the intention of having some refreshing done do it!!! Front seats were recovered, and rest of the car was put on hold for a bit... Fast forward 25+ years to today, and this is what we have.
As you can see from the current condition car is COMPLETE, and it used to be a very nice car before it was parked, and time took its toll on its body and interior!
This Mark 2 is original and complete Jaguar and it is great candidate for TOTAL RESTORATION, especially for somebody who wants to have a highly appreciating matching number car, as they are getting harder and harder to come by!! Lot of these Mark 2's were fitted with different engines out of Ford's or Chevy's and finding one with original matching engine is a real treasure!!
According to Jaguar Heritage Certificate Trust Certificate this Jaguar came in Opalescent Bronze over Beige interior.
Exterior paint appears to be original as well as the interior (with the exception of front seats that were recovered in the past)
Interior is complete but it shows its age.
As the car was stored since early 90's, and it did spend some time being stored outside under a carport and under a cover, time and weather took toll on it. Body is very nice and straight and gaps look great.
From whichever angle you look at this car, you are always struck by its racy elegance and aesthetic balance of stylistic elements. Doors open and shut nicely and tightly with a healthy "thud"!
Undercarriage is original and unmolested, but there is rust in the trunk and some other areas.
