This 1963 Jaguar Mark II 3.8 Sedan is a wonderful original example with one previous owner and with all of its tremendous patina of originality. It is accompanied by a Heritage Certificate of Authenticity, showing it to be a matching numbers car in its original color combination. It is accompanied by books and records from the original owner. The car runs and drives great. It has been properly maintained its entire life. Everything is original under the bonnet.

This vehicle recently completed a professional cosmetic restoration by Classic Showcase to include all mechanical systems gone through and restored or replaced as needed and full vehicle detail inside and out. The body was dissasembled, body worked, fitted and re-painted, receiving primer, base coat, clear coat and color sand and buff. Each part was painted individually off the car. New rubber and seals were installed on the car. New leather seats, panels and new carpets were custom made, fit and installed. All interior wood has been restored. This Mark 2 still retains all original glass, instruments, hubcaps, working original AM/FM radio and much more. It would be hard to find a nicer Mark 2 anywhere. This is truly for the Jaguar collector that wants to add a fine Mark 2 to their collection. 3.5k miles.

Car to be at auction 1/14
www.bonhams.com/auctions/21392/lot/193/

Auction description:
Lot 193
1963 Jaguar MKII 3.8 Saloon

Without reserve
US$ 65,000 - 75,000
€47,000 - 54,000
Chassis no. P219796BW
Engine no. LB9192-9

*Desirable, powerful 3.8-liter model
*Rare and attractive color combination
*Expert restoration by Classic Showcase
*Matching numbers example
*DVD of restoration process included

The ultimate iteration of the MKII, this particular car is a matching numbers example that presents in the exact same color combination that it wore from new. Confirmed by its Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate as being a factory left-hand-drive 3.8-liter car, this example was completed on December 18, 1961 and dispatched eleven days later to distributor Jaguar Cars New York, where it was later titled as a 1963. Finished in Opalescent Dark Green over a Beige interior, the MKII would travel west to find its first owner, recorded as a Mr. Gene D. Stretch of Edmonds, Washington.

With two long-term private owners from new this car has enjoyed the care of keepers who clearly thought of it as something special - which, with its powerful top-of-the-line 3.8-liter motor, it certainly is. The car is reported by the vendor to run and drive very well, with a history of proper maintenance during its lifetime. In recent years, the MKII was treated to a professional restoration by the Jaguar specialists at Classic Showcase; during the restoration, mechanical systems were gone through and restored or replaced as needed. The MKII was fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system, and an aluminum radiator for improved cooling.

The body, resplendent in the attractive and rarely seen shade of Opalescent Dark Green, was carefully disassembled and then received primer, base coat, clear coat and finally, color sanding and buffing to result in the stunning finish seen today. New rubber and seals were installed, while new leather interior, panels and new carpets were custom made, fitted and installed. The signature interior wood trim has been restored, while the glass, instruments, hubcaps, and working original AM/FM radio are all original components. Even the original keys and jack remain with the Saloon today. Accompanied by a DVD of the restoration process documenting the extensive work performed by Classic Showcase, this is a striking MKII with the best power plant, in great colors. For the Jaguar purist who wishes to bring some friends along for the ride, it is perhaps the ideal choice.
Without reserve

Additional description from above auction:
An original left-hand-drive export model, this Mk II 3.8 was completed in December 1961 and subsequently titled as a 1963 model prior to purchase by the first owner in Washington, who retained the car in sound and well-maintained condition until 2009. Finished in Opalescent Dark Green with beige trim, the colors it retains today, the Mk II was factory-equipped with an automatic gearbox, overdrive, and power steering. As offered, it benefits from restoration work by marque experts Classic Showcase, including a new two-stage finish, new leather upholstery, custom-made interior panels and carpeting, a new headliner, and restored woodwork. Mechanical systems were examined with the various components restored or replaced as deemed necessary. Other highlights include original glass, instruments, hubcaps, Lucas "PL" headlamps, Michelin radial tires, Blaupunkt radio, and overdrive, plus a recently upgraded aluminum radiator and stainless steel exhaust. Accompanied by a digital file documenting the restoration and a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, this Mk II is a striking example of Jaguar's definitive sporting saloon in top 3.8-litre specification.
