This 1961 Jaguar Mk II remained off the road for approximately two decades before it was acquired by the seller in 2003 and underwent refurbishment work. Power is provided by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and the car is finished in green over a refreshed beige interior. Equipment includes dual SU carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ wire wheels. The interior houses front bucket seats, rear fold-down trays, wood trim, a wood-rimmed Derrington steering wheel, and a heater. This Mk II is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean Washington title listing the car as a 1963 model year.
The car is finished in Opalescent Dark Green and was fitted with replacement door, trunk, and window seals during the refurbishment. Exterior equipment include a bullet-style side mirror, a Leaper hood ornament, a pop-up cowl vent, and chrome wraparound bumpers with overriders.
Wire 15″ wheels are mounted with Vredestien Sprint Classic tires, and a matching spare is stored in the trunk. The four-wheel disc brakes were overhauled with stainless-steel hard lines, replacement rotors, and a rebuilt master cylinder. Suspension components were powder-coated, and replacement shocks and neoprene bushings were installed.
The refreshed cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in beige leather, while burl walnut veneers adorn the dashboard, door caps, and window frames. Sound-dampening material has been applied to the floors, and the carpets and headliner have been refreshed. A heater and vent windows are fitted, three-point front seat belts feature Leaper logos on the buckles, and fold-down trays are located on the backs of the front seats. The AM/FM radio works intermittently.
The wood-rimmed Derrington steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. Centrally positioned auxiliary gauges display water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 54k miles.
The 3.8-liter XK inline-six was factory rated at 220 horsepower and 237 lb-ft of torque. It was overhauled under current ownership, the wiring harness was replaced, and the dual SU carburetors were rebuilt. Additoinal work involved servicing the radiator and heater core, applying a high-heat finish to the exhaust manifold, installing stainless-steel exhaust pipes, and replacing the fuel pump. The battery has a quick disconnect.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and a limited-slip differential. A coating has been applied to portions of the undercarriage, and a rust patch is noted.
