Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar MkII, California Project Car V6/Auto.
This Jaguar was sold new in Southern California and has lived here all its life. The body is very solid with perfect floors. There are a couple of small rust spots lower down but overall the body is straight and has no serious rust. The dash is complete with all instruments and the wood is very good. The rest of the interior is done in bordello style vinyl and makes me very sad. It needs a full interior kit which is readily available. The wire wheels are nice and the chrome is very presentable.
This car originally came with a four speed overdrive transmission and it still has the pedal and some linkage but the car is now equipped with a GM V6 engine with an automatic transmission. The conversion was done years ago by the father of the lady I got the car from and he drove it for many years. It will spin over and start on external fuel but will need the fuel system gone through. With the carb filled up the engine runs very well. Smooth and no noises. Starts instantly. The fuel pump is bad. Brakes will need doing also. They are all disc!
Overall it is a very solid car that should be an easy project to get to be a nice driving car. I would leave the V6 in there. The interior wood is very nice. These MkII Jaguars are super nice cars to drive and the V6 auto would make it easy to maintain. I have a clear California title.
The Jaguar is available for viewing in Ventura.
