auction description:
Jaguar 420 Saloon
Classics Cars, Barons (10th September 2006)
Overview
This example has recently benefited from a rebuilt and unleaded compatible engine, by well know specialists VSE and, with only 3000 miles covered since the rebuild, is only just "run-in". The car is also equipped with Aldon Electronic ignition, Stainless steel (chrome) wire wheels, stainless steel exhaust system and a very original interior, with the exception of the headlining, which has recently been renewed. Finished in midnight blue with red leather, the car is said to have excellent bodywork, which would appear to be rust free. It has the 4.2 litre XK dohc engine and Borg Warner, 3 speed, automatic transmission and is offered complete with a extensive history file, plus an MoT and historic tax through to February 2007. Grossly undervalued at the moment and a really superb way to travel.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
