Olle in 1949
Ljusdal municipality
Basic information and history
Swedish sold Jaguar 420 4.2 XK Manual – Classic British elegance
Now is the opportunity to acquire a beautiful and well maintained 1968 Jaguar 420 - a timeless British sports sedan that combines elegant design with impressive performance. This example is sold in Sweden and equipped with the coveted 4.2-liter XK engine and a manual gearbox, making it a gem of driving pleasure.
Facts about the car:
Year model: 1968
Engine: 4.2-liter straight six (XK)
Gearbox: Manual
Number of owners: 7 previous owners
Condition and history:
The paintwork was repainted in 2014 and still maintains a very high quality today.
The engine was renovated back in 1988 and since then has only been driven about 3000 km, which testifies to a car that has been cared for carefully and driven sparingly.
Inside and out, the car is in fine condition, and the details reflect the British luxury of the period.
This is a car for the collector looking for a classic with history, or for the enthusiast who appreciates timeless design and authentic driving feel. A Jaguar 420 is not just a car – it's an experience and an investment in a piece of British motoring history.
Condition
The body is in good condition and was repainted in 2014. The entire body was glass-blasted, underwent rust repair with tin packing and was painted in the unique color Golden Sand metallic. There should be no rust, and the paintwork is basically freshly applied. There is a small mark between the door pillars on the left side, but otherwise the body is free of dents and scratches. The glass around the car is in good condition, with new headlight glass. The rear bumper is slightly dull, while the moldings and emblems are in usable condition. The rims are undamaged, and the tires are in mint condition, with only 1,000 km driven.
The interior is in fine original condition with only a small tear in the driver's seat on the right front. The dashboard is intact and free of cracks, and the headliner is also in very good original condition. The steering wheel, controls and buttons are in good condition, but the cover above the steering wheel is cracked. All electronics in the car work flawlessly.
The engine is in very good condition and underwent a complete rebuild in 1988. The gearbox and drivetrain are in good working order, although the overdrive sometimes misses according to the seller. The brakes were also refurbished in 1988 and have only covered 3,000 km since then.
Service history
Complete documentation of repairs:
Year 2023: Replacement of fuel pumps on both right and left tanks.
All documents from the car were new included.
Last service: 2022.
Last completed inspection: 2016-09-06 (previous inspection reports are available).
Summary
Jaguar 420 4.2 in good condition - ready for new adventures! Only 3000 km driven since an extensive engine overhaul. A classic car in fine condition that combines elegance and performance. Perfect for the collector or enthusiast looking for something extra.
Bob's Commet:
This car has been for sale 6 months or more. The leather seats color is different from the vinyl trim, suggesting that the vinyl trim has been replaced. Decent driver, i.e. between scruffy and nice driver.
