Ebay item 3/13/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $19,500, no reserve, no bids yet, 4 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Original Jaguar 420 that is almost exactly the way it was 40 years ago. This vehicle was rare to begin with as only 10,000 were commissioned to be made by Jaguar in 1967, which makes this unspoiled and well preserved car all the more sought after.
Every single piece in the car, with the exception of the clutch, valve and timing chain and the paint job, is completely original, from the AM radio and the toolbox, right down to the wiring tape. In addition, the car also comes with such original features as the spare, all four hub caps, the dealer instructions manual & parts catalogue, and the luxury of air conditioning (if retrofitted). As with the mechanics, the interior also remains true to its genuineness. The wool carpeting and leather tan seats have never been reupholstered and are in good shape.
The 4.2L 6 cylinder engine is in very good condition, and the original overdrive is fully functional.
The only things that may need changing at some point are the engine rings, and the speedometer if it bothers you. The tires have about 50% of the tread remaining. Otherwise, the car is in perfect shape, and in outstanding running condition.
I was fortunate to have purchased the Jaguar from its original owner, who bought the car from a New York City Jaguar dealership and took immaculate care of it. It was also inspected prior to purchasing it, and the vehicle title is clear. Since then, I’ve taken great pride in ensuring the car remains as authentic to it’s originality as possible. The car was painstakingly and professionally re-painted seven years ago to bring back its flawless shine. The body was stripped down to the metal, primed and given a top-quality paint job back to its original metallic racing green color. It was then treated with a high-gloss clear coat and then wet-sanded to give it a mirror finish. In addition, the chrome was shined, perfecting the bodywork to showroom quality.
