Car at auction 1/22
angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/sat-29th-sun-30th-january/1968-jaguar-s-type-34- ...

Auction description
Sat 29th & Sun 30th January » 1968 Jaguar S-Type 3.4 M/OD
Estimate: £5,500 - 7,500
MoT Exempt
Chassis number: P1B9517DN

The previous owner of 33 years reputedly spent in excess of £30,000 restoring this manual gearbox with overdrive Jaguar S‑type 3.4, with the job completed during 1990. However, after that, his employment commitments abroad meant that the car wasn't really used and was dry‑stored instead for around 28 years. The last few years of its storage have been under a cover outside, however.

The car, in green with cream leather interior, was registered in July 1968, and the mileage is recorded on the odometer as 19,155 miles. Three former registered keepers are noted.

Included in the large history folder are copies of old V5 documents, photos of the car, and invoices and correspondence detailing its restoration and what was spent on what, and when. There are also old parts catalogues, magazine features and other bills and correspondence dating back to the 1970s.

Having been off the road for so long, renovation work will now be required to return this example of one of Jaguar's best‑loved classic sports saloons to the road.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
