Sellers description:
One of the most beautiful Jaguar saloons ever built, the 1965 3.8S. It is sporty and powerful and very fast. It has automatic transmission and disc brakes, power steering and a fully independent rear suspension. It has 15" chrome wire wheels with excellent tires. This is a project car that is almost completely done, lacking details and misc assembly.

The interior upholstery has been completed, the wood interior has been professionally refinished and much of it is still wrapped in tissue. There are some cloudy areas on some pieces of the restored wood. This I believe can be polished off. Most of the chrome is dazzeling. Many new parts are provided like chrome, electrical items, rubber, trim and etc. The headliner is excellent restored as are interior panels and so forth. 72 spoke chrome wire wheels appear to be new, spare is not. The bumpers though not rechromed are still very nice. The new carpets were damaged by moths and were removed.

The car is believed to be a southern car, Florida and then Atlanta and then central Georgia. The car was painted several years ago and now has some faults that have developed. Most of the time since restoration was started its been inside. I've owned the car 1 1/2 years and have kept it inside. But for a year or so previous to my acquisition the car was outside in central georgia. First under a car cover but during the occasional times when the cover blew off rain got to the doors, the door drains were plugged up with debris and when I got the car the doors had water in them and bubbles have appeared in lower parts of the doors. The same is true of the trunk lid that took in water because the rear license lamp had not been installed and water settled in the lid. There are also a few scratches. I would be hesitant to repaint this car unless you wanted to go full concours with it. Touch up would be enough for me.

When I bought the car I was told that it was believed to be complete. It was NOT. It was missing a heavy carton of brightwork. The loss of this precious chrome and misc do dads like door handles etc may have been the discouraging factor to the previous owner. I took it upon myself to completely replace everything missing as best as I could determine what I needed. I purchased another project car that was complete except for the engine and trans, along with boxes and boxes of extra parts. ATTENTION !! : the buyer of this car will get all that is needed to complete the car from the items in my warehouse; that should be everything. Extra parts a few of which may appear in the photographs will not be included. The California no rust parts car which is probably complete will be offered at a later date.

This 1965 Jaguar S-Type is a rolling project that has been partially disassembled for restoration. The car was discovered by the current owner in the 1990's in Warner Robins, Georgia as a running example. After being sold to a friend who began a refurbishment, it was purchased back last winter and is now being offered for sale due to health issues. A 3.4L head from an early 50's XK120 is installed on a 3.8L block and shifting is provided by a Borg Warner automatic transmission. The engine does not currently run. This example is being offered with no reserve by the selling dealer on behalf of the current owner and is sold with additional parts and a Georgia bill of sale.

An accident in the front of the car some time ago resulted in an improper filler repair beneath the grille as detailed in the gallery. Some damage is present beneath the right front fender lip and behind the right front wheel.

Body panels and floor pans are said to be mostly solid elsewhere with the exception of some scaliness in the bottom of the spare tire well and some other minor spots around the vehicle. Many parts have been removed, but according to the seller most are included. Factory knock-off wire wheels remain.

Interior wood, door panels, and most dash components have been disassembled. Seats appear intact and relatively clean.

While the seller is unsure whether the 3.8L block is the correct unit, numbers suggest that the 3.4L 8:1 compression head is from a 1953 XK120. The Borg Warner automatic transmission is believed original. Several photos of the undercarriage display some corrosion on the frame, suspension components, and other areas.
