This 1965 Jaguar S-Type is a non-running project that was recently acquired by the selling dealer out of Connecticut, reportedly after approximately 30 years in storage with its previous owner. The car is finished in older metallic blue paint over a matching leather interior and retains a seized 3.8-liter XK inline-six and four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional equipment includes a sunroof, lap belts, and a Nardi steering wheel. This S-Type project is offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with a tool kit, jack, and a New York bill of sale.
The car wears aged metallic blue paint over sheet metal that shows damage along the right side. Rust is present in areas such as the bottoms of the doors, the fenders, and the rear valance, while the weatherstripping is cracked from age. A Touring Club of Switzerland decal is affixed to the trunk lid.
Chrome bumpers are retained along with window glass, lenses, and other trim. Painted wire knock-off wheels are mounted with earless spinners and wear older Michelin radial tires. The seller notes that the car can be rolled and steered following disconnection of the driveshaft.
The interior retains worn blue leather upholstery, wood trim, factory switchgear, and a Nardi steering wheel. Smiths instrumentation includes a 240-km/h speedometer and a five-digit odometer that shows just over 13k kilometers (~8k miles). Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter XK inline-six features dual SU carburetors and is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The cylinders are said to have been soaked in preparation for testing, though the engine does not turn by hand and the transmission is seized in gear according to the selling dealer.
Rust is prevalent in the rockers, frame rails, and floors.
