Ebay item 9/26/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-JAGUAR-340-MARK-II-RESTORATION-/320986165289
Current bid $3,500, no reserve, 1 bid 1 day left in auction. 58k miles.
Sellers description:
1967 JAGUAR 340 - MARK II
THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR AT LEAST 6 YEARS. THE PREVIOUS OWNER BOUGHT IT FOR A RESTORATION PROJECT AND TOOK IT TO A GARAGE IN INDIANAPOLIS. WE OBTAINED THE CAR ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO. IT WAS SITTING UNDER A TREE. THE GARAGE HAD REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD AND PUT WORKED ON THE POWER STEERING. A COUPLE OF THE GUYS DROVE IT BACK TO LIMA, OH. THERE IS NO ONE IN LIMA TO WORK ON THE CAR OR EVEN LOOK AT IT TO SEE WHAT TYPE OF PROBLEMS IT MIGHT HAVE. I AM SELLING IT AS I FOUND IT.
THE GOOD: WE CAN START THE CAR AND IT DOES DRIVE FAIRLY WELL. THE PAINT LOOKS PRETTY GOOD. DID NOT FIND ANY MAJOR RUST. THE HUBCAPS ARE ALL THERE. THE TIRES ARE HOLDING AIR. THE HUBCAPS ARE ALL THERE. IT DOES HAVE A NEW WINDSHIELD.
THE BAD: THE CAR WILL NEED TO BE TRANSPORTED HOME. IT DOES LEAK FLUID ON THE FLOOR - WE THINK IT IS EITHER POWER STEERING FLUID OR BRAKE FLUID. THE FLUIDS HAVE BEEN CHECKED - THE WHITE PLASTIC BOTTLE IS EMPTY. THE REST SEEM TO BE AT LEAST HALF FULL.
THIS VEHICLE WAS STORED OUTSIDE FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS. DURING MOST OF THAT TIME IT HAD A CRACKED WINDSHIELD - SO SOME WEATHER GOT INSIDE. THE WOODWORK NEEDS TO BE REFINISHED, RE-VENEERED OR REPLACED. SOME PIECES OF VENEER ARE MISSING. CARPET NEEDS TO BE REPLACED - IN THE FRONT SOME HAS BEEN REMOVED AND THE SECTION ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SHOWS WATER DAMAGE AND HAS A LIGHT MUSTY SMELL.
THE LEATHER SEATS LOOK TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE (DID NOT FIND ANY MAJOR RIPS OR TEARS). SOME LEATHER TRIM AROUND WINDOWS AND DOORS IS HANGING - NOT CONNECTED.
THE HUBCAPS NEED TO BE REDONE. THE TIRES HOLD AIR AT THE MOMENT, BUT ARE OLD AND MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED.
THE CAR IS STORED AT MY CARLOT:

Car returns to ebay 3/13/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-JAGUAR-MKII-340-SEDAN-/190810757825
Current bid $3,950 reserve not met, 16 bids 6 days left in auction. Same location.
Sellers description:
This is a remarkable, and except for a repaint, nearly original car!!! The doors close with a very solid "thud"!! The Engine starts immediately and is strong carrying 30lbs. oil pressure at idle. The Automatic Transmission shifts correctly. The brakes appear to work as they should and at 58,218, the mileage on the odometer is ACTUAL. Furthermore, except for a couple of specs and tiny paint bubbles (see pics), the vehicle is 99.99% rust free. The headlights, tail lights, turn signals and wipers work as they should.
Although not perfect, this is a beautiful automobile. The interior is basically original so overall the vehicle would probably fit in the "older restoration" category. I had the exterior professionally re-painted in my body shop circa 1988. The contrasting Tu-Tone paint work of Dark Titanium Metallic over Bright Silver Metallic combined with the shiny Chrome make the cars appearance nothing less than spectacular. It's been at least 25-30 years since I've entered it in a show but regardless if before or after the repaint, it never failed to take a trophy. FYI the car was originally Dove Gray and the trunk and under bonnet have not been repainted.
The chrome is generally good to excellent and the leaping Jaguar on the bonnet is nearly perfect, the windows are clear and uncracked and the Jaguar 3.4 Litre Badge on the Grille is nearly perfect as well.
I've drove the vheicle this morning, it runs and drives, stops and starts like it's supposed to. In terms of total operation, there is only one marginal concern on the car; as on nearly all the MKII's so equipped, the power steering rack leaks. The tires were purchased new shortly after the repaint. In that regard they look like new and I saw no visible evidence of dry rot or tread separation. The brand is Cooper Life Liner Classics and the size is P205x70Rx15. To the best of my knowledge, this piece of rolling art can be driven anywhere at any time.
As for the interior, the seats are as nice as they were when I bought the car some 36 or so years ago and I assume they're original. There are no rips or tears and they're in excellent condition. I know the door trim panels are vinyl and I think the seats are leather but I can't tell for sure. The Headliner and Carpet are in fair condition. Generally the wood is mostly fair with some good.
