Daimler versions of the immortal Jaguar MKII were readily distinguishable by their fluted radiator grilles and, of course, the lack of 'leaping cat' bonnet mascot found on their Jaguar siblings. They took their name from the engine that powered them - a lightweight, V8 unit of 2548cc designed by Edward Turner. Manufacture continued until production of all MKII derivatives ceased in 1969, by which time some 17,620 V8-250s had been made. 'KPG 383J' was part restored in Germany prior to its repatriation by the vendor two years ago. The engine and gearbox have apparently been overhauled and the Daimler resprayed in Black. The interior has been retrimmed in Tan/Cream leather and the vendor informs us that "only minor trimming and electrical work are now required to complete the job and make this chrome wire-wheeled V8 a very usable car once more". Currently taxed and tested, it is being sold without reserve.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
