Car to be at auction 10/2/10

Auction description:
The Spirit of Motoring - Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire, SL5 7JX
2 October 2010 at 3pm
1961 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 MOD
Lot 103
Registration Number: 1069 WD
Chassis Number: A161252DN
Estimate:£8,000- £10,000
First Registered in July 1961, this very original example of Jaguar’s iconic 3.8 Mk II. The car has spent much of its life in South Africa, and was re-imported back to the UK in the 1990’s.

Finished in cream with a red interior, the wood and leather show a delightful aged patina, which these days with so many over restored examples on the market is increasingly difficult to find.

Complete with wire wheels, overdrive manual gearbox, recent MOT and UK V5, this splendid classic saloon would be a worthy addition to any prestigious collection. 1096 WD is ready for immediate use.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
