Car returns to ebay 2/1/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-stock-1957-jaguar-mark-1-restored-/400854632636
Current bid US $5,600, no reserve, 2 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Sellers description:
The car is a 1957 Jaguar Mark 1 sedan. It is complete and restored, requiring final assembly. The body work is all done and painted. The engine has been completely rebuilt with new pistons (.030 over), rings, bearings, timing chains, head work with new valves and guides. New ignition wiring, coil etc. Rebuilt starter and generator. Rebuilt radiator and all new hoses. Engine has been test run 20-30 minutes total and is in the car.
Transmission is 4-speed, with new clutch, throw-out bearing and slave cylinder.
It has new period whitewall tires - BFG Silvertown, and a new stainless steel exhaust system (built in the UK).
The interior is complete with new headliner and newly upholstered front seats. Rear seat and door panels are original. Includes new carpet insulation pad. All windows and doors work including the door locks by key. All glass is good. All gauges work as do panel lights and heater fan.
Chrome is good driver quality and is all there. Has the early cast iron, eight slat grill. All wood is there and in good condition - will probably want to refinish.
The car is not operable at present but requires minimal time and money to get to a presentable driver quality level.
There is no title but all factory VIN number plates are in place. I will provide a notarized "Bill of Sale" Buyer will be responsible to obtain title.
Engine is a 2.4 litre engine from a Mark 2. Engine #BJ4634-8. So it has the "B" cylinder head, larger valves, improved air flow and higher HP of the Mark 2 2.4L engine. Engine is bored .030" oversize and fitted with new pistons, rings, etc. Clutch is the larger one from that engine. Transmission is numbers matching 4-speed.
