Auction description:
Lot No. 107:
1961 Jaguar Mark IX Saloon
Chassis No. 792405BW
AUCTION DATE:

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Purchased new by a Mrs. Champlin of Enid, Oklahoma, the car offered here was driven sparingly by her chauffeur and well cared for. Mrs. Champlin’s family owned the Champlin Oil Company operations in Enid and Champlin Exploration, Inc., an oil and gas development company.
The original red Connolly leather interior remains supple and retains its wonderful patina. The interior woodwork is Jaguar’s burled walnut, and the dashboard, window moldings and fold-down trays for the rear passengers display excellent original finish. The car was refinished once in its original Cotswold Blue. The chrome and stainless trim is all in exceptional condition. The undercarriage and body are excellent and free of any corrosion issues. A fabulous original example of the classic Jaguar saloon cars, this Mark IX has been rigorously maintained and recently serviced. It is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.
