Ebay item 5/11/12 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1959-JAGUAR-MK-IX-MARK-9-ORIGINAL-NUMBERS-MATCHING-VII-V ...
Opening bid $9,995, no reserve, no bids 9 days left in auction. Interesting "J61" prefix. Common for California cars but have not seen one on an early saloon, nor a plastic one. The correct VIN for this car is likely J61791583BW.
Sellers description:
1959 JAGUAR MK IX
*ORIGINAL EXAMPLE*
SERIAL #004759
Beautiful NUMBERS MATCHING unmolested barn find from California. This stunning Navy and Gray Two-Tone 1959 MK IX would be the perfect candidate for a restoration project as it has been owned by the same owner since 1963 and is virtually all original. For the last 20 years it has been sitting in a garage, and just as one would expect, the fuel lines and tanks need to be replaced and flushed, the carbs needs to be rebuilt. Car currently does not start up. Body is straight and solid.
As this car has been in California its whole life, there are no rust problems whatsoever. Never taken apart. The car can be seen at Steve's Jaguar in Canoga Park, Ca. Steve's Jaguar would be more than qualified to help with your restoration, well respected in the business since 1981.
Features:
Standard transmission was a four-speed manual system: options included overdrive, but most cars were built with a Borg Warner three-speed automatic box.
