    Ebay item 6/19/12
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1957-Jaguar-Mark-8-VIII-MK-Heritage-Certificate-/2510885 ...
Car has a buy it now price of $16,000 for 20 days. 87k miles.

    Sellers description:
    1957 Jaguar Mark VIII ( JAG, MK,eight,8)...

    Here are the highlights:
    Matching number
    No RUST
    Straight and clean
    Runs
    Interior very pretty

The car has been in California (San Diego) since the early 1960's, was owned by executive that transferred from New York, It was sold in late 1970's to a friend of mine. Around 1986 he decided to restore the car and did a very nice job and used it once a month till 1996. It has been parked in one car garage here in San Diego.... I bought it from him a while back and kept it in his garage till last month...

I ordered a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and it confirms that all numbers match.... I had soaked the pistons with mystery oil for a year before hand turning it over... fortunately he had drained all fluids (gas, brake fluid, coolant etc...).. I fired it up with new oil and it runs very smooth.,.... as it used to....

    All gauges, lights work, ....

tires hold air, original jack and spare are present...

    Chrome is very decent...

    Absolutely no rust areas

Dash wood is excellent wool headliner is fine

needs the brake wheel cylinders redone from sitting and whatever one does to tranny from sitting (probably basic service), as well as cleaning gas tank ....

Body is extremely straight though there is dent from a computer falling on right rear when covered in the garage during the Easter Earthquake april 5 2010....

I have a few spares and original washer bottle (not shown)

oh the red cloth on wipers are there so someone doesn't use wiper switch and scratch windshied

front half windshield chrome present missing two trim clips

It is a matching number low mile California (last 50 years) running Iconic (car model used in Vertigo) Jaguar. It is ready for basic work to be use nice daily driver or perfect for concourse restoration.

Current bid $5,100 reserve not met, 12 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Kalamazoo, Michigan. 87K miles.

    Sellers description:
    1957 Jaguar Mk8

    Great condition, numbers matching Mk8

The car was in California (San Diego) since the early 1960's, was owned by executive that transferred from New York. It was sold in late 1970's to the next owner who restored around 1986. The owner used it once a month until 1996 when he sold the car to a friend. The new owner left the car in the same garage and never drove it. The owner just previous to me ordered a Jaguar Heritage Certificate while in California and it confirms that all numbers match.

He decided to sell the car in July 2013 when I acquired it and shipped it to Michigan via InterCity Lines. On August 4 the car arrived at a mechanics shop in Michigan and underwent a thorough review and work over the next few months. A list of the work accomplished is below.

    Fuel System
    Both carburetors rebuilt
    Both fuel pumps replaced
Both gas tanks removed and refurbished (opened, cleaned, and coated)
    Lines replaced

    Brakes
All four wheel cylinders removed and rebuilt by White Post
    All drums removed and refurbished
    Servo replaced
    Lines replaced

    Cooling System
    Radiator removed and refurbished
    Water pump replaced
    Thermostat replaced
    Hoses replaced

Body and chrome are in great shape for a 1986 restoration though there is dent from a computer falling on right rear when covered in the garage during the California Easter Earthquake on April 5, 2010. All of the lights work and the headliner is in good shape. Front half windshield chrome present, but missing two trim clips.
