Sellers description:
1956 jag mk7 that has been in Arizona and Texas for a long time . I bought this jag along with 4 others about 2 years ago , they belonged to a local lawyer that collects cars and he had so many that they all just sat around until the tires went flat, the batteries dead, the gas sour, the brakes spongy etc you know the drill. this one has been sitting for quite awhile until I recently put in a new battery, fresh gas, 2 aftermarket fuel pumps, bled the brakes some etc , it now starts right up and it runs fairly well and sounds good but the brakes are still mighty spongy, I would not try to drive it home, the car is very sharp looking and is very complete, it has every piece and in good condition, it has real leather that is very supple and nice in dark blue, it has good paint but not show quality on a national level but ok for local shows, it was originally a cream color and is now shiny white, door jams and all ,it does have some overspray on the chrome and rubber due to poor taping, the trunk is very tidy, the tires have good tread but they are old and have flat spots, I just drove it around the block and the motor sounds ok and is peppy but it has some blowby maybe ok with some drive time, maybe needs work ,but seems ok for local use, the transmission shifts ok but is a little clunky sometimes, maybe the mounts are deteriorated ,it has reverse but the park pawl is out of adjustment and will not quite hold on a hill, it clicks. nothing complicated in my opinion, the interior is very nice and the wood is complete but it could use a revarnish to make the car awesome. One of the fuel doors is loose and needs some attention where the hinge mounts to the body it has all the chrome trim and extra lites and it looks fantastic from the front, the chrome is a little pitted and tired but not embarrassing at all and is way better then most on the market as is the whole car . It is hard to find one of these that has not been modified or restored by an idiot. this one is all correct and stock looking , it has a clear title. it has the sunroof that works but it is a little dingy inside the runners , I intended to clean and repaint that area but you can't see it with roof closed. The car has aftermarket air conditioning that is all there, it turns on but it is not cold at this time. All that said this is a magnificent automobile and it is in my showroom and gets total admiration from everyone that sees it, it is a truly regal car with some of the best styling ever built . upon comparison to others I have seen I believe that this mk7 should bring 25 to 30 thousand dollars but I am the seller and you are the buyers.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
