Finally making progress

Last time the car ran under its own power was the summer of 1962. It lived in a barn (upstairs, wooden floor, whew!) from the until 1999.

I bought it then, sight unseen, and have worked on and off for twenty one years.

At 70, I've given up the dream of finishing everything my self.

June 1 , it's going to a restoration shop. plan it be driving it to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix , July 2022.

Stay tuned.

So, went to a shop in September, after first two shops bid $150,000 to restore it. Work commenced Early December, when i got back from Europe. Inside of one week, they got the clutch working, and drove it around the parking lot. First time it has run under its own power since Spring of 1962. When all phones were dial, JFK was president, and IBM owned 1/2 of all the computers in the world. I drove it the next week.

Interior is now out of it, tanks are out, bumper is off, lots of new sheet metal from England, ready to weld. Away we go. Hoping for body and paint and engine bay done by Christmas.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
